Course Summary

Course based on a student who holds a current, Idaho license and has less than 2 years experience working under that license.  Course taught in English only.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR INSTRUCTOR TRAINING:  Holds a current Idaho license or certificate of completion of course.    Is a high school graduate or equivalent (GED).

1000 hours of instruction—approx. 6 months

  • History of Teaching (1 hour)

  • Profile of a Master Educator, Professional Ethics (1 Hour)

  • Effective Communication, Human Relations (1 Hour)

  • Developing a Dynamic Program of Study (30 hours)

  • Developing and Using Educational Aids (30 hours)

  • Teaching Skills and Presentation Techniques (15 Hours)

  • Results-Oriented Classroom Management (15 Hours)

  • Industry Needs (1 Hour)

  • Teaching Building a Dynamic Clinic (2 Hours)

  • Practical Skill Training (700 Hours)

  • Student Evaluation and Testing Methods (15 Hours)

  • Teaching to Diverse Learning Styles (2 Hours)

  • Powerful Teaching and Learning Methods (5 Hours)

  • Special Learning Needs (5 Hours)

  • Barriers to Learning (2 Hours)

  • Effective Communication Skills (2 Hours)

  • Professional Performance Evaluation (2 Hours)

  • Preparing for Employment (2 Hours)

  • Employment-compensation packages, payroll deductions (4 hours)

  • Idaho Cosmetology Laws and Rules-Certification Requirements (50 Hours)
